Objectives
NAOJ holds an annual symposium to discuss its future plans with the community based on the discussions in the Science Advisory Committee. In 2021 ('Thinking about Future Plans Across Wavelengths'), discussions on science in the various fields of astronomy was held, and in 2022 ('How to decide and promote future plans'), discussions on the framework for deciding the future plans of NAOJ was held. Based on this, in 2023 ('Science Roadmap of NAOJ'), the process of formulating the Science Roadmap of NAOJ was tried out. This year, NAOJ has started to formulate its Science Roadmap, and will hold a symposium to introduce and discuss actual proposals for the roadmap. This is an important forum to discuss the future of not only NAOJ but also astronomy in Japan. We would like to take this opportunity to hear from the astronomical community and surrounding communities. We look forward to your participation! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Proposals for the NAOJ Science Roadmap
-
We received 43 Letters of Intent (LOIs) from groups with future plans they would like to propose
to the NAOJ Science Roadmap. For more information, please click here.
(Reference) NAOJ Science Roadmap Proposal Form
This is the proposal template that we are requesting from the groups that submitted their LOIs. At this year's Future Planning Symposium, we will listen to each proposer's presentation and receive feedback from the attendees. The presentation materials will include slides explaining the required items 1-10 of the proposal. Based on your feedback, we may ask the proposers to brush up the content of their proposals.
