Scientific Goals and Missions - Nobeyama Radio Observatory
The Nobeyama Radio Observatory explores millimeter astronomy through researches on star formation and the interstellar medium with the 45-m radio telescope.
The mission of this project is to provide the world science community with opportunities of scientific observations using the Nobeyama 45-m radio telescope, and with the observational data from it through the Astronomical Data Center.
Primary Scientific Goals
The primary scientific goals of this project are:
- to carry out research on star formation and interstellar medium based on extensive mapping observations of the CO molecule; and
- to address the open questions in star formation based on high-sensitivity observations of the deuterated molecules.
