NAOJ's Future Planning Process

NAOJ is advancing a process to formulate its future plans in collaboration with the astronomy community.
The basic framework consists of three stages:

(a) Science Roadmap of Japanese Astronomy - A science roadmap outlining future directions for Japanese astronomy as a whole
(b) NAOJ Science Roadmap - A science roadmap outlining the future scientific directions to be pursued by NAOJ
(c) NAOJ Project Implementation Plan - An implementation plan for projects based on the NAOJ Science Roadmap

Beginning in FY2024, NAOJ has initiated the process for formulating its own Science Roadmap, as outlined in step (b) above. We warmly invite all members of the astronomical community — especially those who wish to propose future projects for inclusion in the NAOJ Science Roadmap — to participate in this process.
