On December 9, 2024, Mr. Eduardo Hernandez, President of the Planetarium Torreón of Mexico and his team, including Mr. Cosme Garcia, Counsellor for Education, Science and Technology Cooperation from the Embassy of Mexico in Japan, visited NAOJ Mitaka Campus.

After receiving an overview of NAOJ from Dr. Yoshida (Vice-Director General on General Affairs) and Dr. Saito (Vice-Director General on Finance), President Eduardo Hernandez and his team toured Mitaka Campus with a Mexican researcher working on the ALMA Project.

At the Advanced Technology Center, they received explanations of the ALMA receivers and Subaru Telescope’s Hyper-Suprime Cam (HSC), as well as the ultra-precision machining facilities. They also enjoyed historical buildings in Mitaka Campus and beautiful 3D images of the Universe based on the latest observational data and theoretical research simulations at the 4D2U Dome Theater.
