Public Relations Center Staff Member Wins Tohoku University International Award 2026

Ramsey Lundock, in the Public Relations Center, has been awarded the Tohoku University International Award 2026.

The award recognizes his leading role in public outreach and international communications. Through his efforts to convey cutting-edge astronomical research to general audiences worldwide, Lundock has made remarkable contributions to the public understanding of science.

Lundock comments, “I am honored and humbled to receive the Tohoku University International Award. I am glad that my activities have played a small part in helping to support Tohoku University and hope to do more in the future. I thank everyone who taught me at Tohoku University, both astronomy and Japanese. I thank my coworkers and collaborators who support and tolerate me every day.”

Established in 2022, the Tohoku University International Awards recognize the achievements of alumni and individuals with strong university connections whose work has enhanced Tohoku University's global presence. The awards ceremony was held in Sendai on October 3, as part of the Tohoku University Homecoming Day.
