The Nobeyama Millimeter Array and the starry winter sky - Nobeyama Radio Observatory

Astrophotography・

The winter is harsh in the Nobeyama highlands at an altitude of 1350 meters. One of the six Nobeyama Millimeter Array 10m antennas looks up at the frigid winter sky. When the Great Winter Triangle and the Pleiades star cluster (in the Constellation Taurus) appear low in the western sky it signals that the end of winter is near. If you turned your head to look at the eastern sky, you would see the shapes of the spring constellations starting to appear.
