Intersection of the Solar System and the Galactic Plane

This is the starry sky photographed at the ALMA Array Operations Site (5000 meter elevation). The widest part around the middle of the Milky Way is captured in the center of the picture. The faint white light extending from the lower right to the center is Zodiacal light; dust within the Solar System which shines by reflecting sunlight. Just above the antennas, the Moon shines dazzlingly bright.
